Around Kinnaird

Kinnaird is a small, hillside village just above Pitlochry.

Our unique location provides the benefits of being close to a thriving tourist town with the peace, tranquillity and breathtaking scenery of Highland Perthshire.

Whether you are walking, cycling or driving you can get instant access to many attractions and places of outstanding beauty.

Here are a few of our suggestions:

Robert Louis Stephenson’s Cottage

Kinnaird lies less than two miles from Pitlochry on the road Kirkmichael. One of its claims to fame is that Robert Louis Stevenson stayed the summer in 1883 and wrote the Body Snatchers in the cottage next door but two to our lodges.

Edradour Distillery

Just beyond Kinnaird lies Edradour – famous for housing the smallest distillery in Scotland. This is a must visit attraction as it is also the prettiest and well known for providing one of the best guided tours in the country. Edradour is the preferred supplier of whisky to the House of Lords.

The Moulin Inn

A mile to the south is the Moulin Inn. This 16th Century Inn is one of the best pubs in Perthshire with open fires, its own micro brewery and a set of local characters to adorn any soap opera.

Crusaders Grave

Moulin is an ancient settlement and rumoured to be the northerly most settled place by the Roman Empire. It is said to be annotated on their ancient maps.

The local church houses a grave of a Crusader dating back to the crusades in the 14th Century.

SEER Centre

Five miles north lies the SEER Centre. This is where you will find vegetables specially grown in Rock dust. Rich in essential minerals, the produce is amazing in its quality and size.
